Sustainable Products and Systems: Insulating Plaster Strategy and FIXIT 222 Aerogel High-Performance Insulating Plaster
Energy-efficient building retrofits, particularly facade insulation, are among the key challenges in achieving climate protection goals. In Germany alone, more than 19 million properties are affected. Furthermore, there are limitations on the application of insulation to facades that are worthy of preservation or are listed as historic monuments. A unique alternative to conventional insulation methods was developed specifically for these requirements: FIXIT 222 Aerogel High-Performance Insulating Plaster.

Recycling: Plastic-Free Packaging
Conserving Resources – Conscious Use of Materials and Recycling of Building Materials
The recycling of building materials and other materials is a key component of our sustainability strategy. The FIXIT GROUP is already active in many countries and has launched numerous projects and initiatives: In Austria, for example, a significant portion of powder products has been switched to plastic-free packaging; in Germany, the sites participate in the dual system (Green Dot) and support the recycling of rock wool and EPS waste.

Power Generation: Photovoltaic Systems
Use of Renewable Energy – Europe-wide Expansion of Photovoltaic Systems
The FIXIT GROUP is expanding the installation of new photovoltaic systems at numerous locations and promoting the use of renewable energy. Just recently, two new systems in Bex and Sennwald, Switzerland, with a total area of over 5,000 square meters of solar panels, were put into operation. Additional systems are currently being planned and implemented across Europe.

Regional. Sustainable. Forward-thinking.
Whether sourcing raw materials or delivering products, FIXIT Switzerland prioritizes regional proximity—thereby reducing mileage and lowering transportation costs. Depending on the region, our logistics partners already use modern electric trucks for deliveries to our facilities. In addition, our own vehicle fleet is actively being converted to electric power, and the necessary charging infrastructure—in some cases combined with solar power systems—has been established at all locations.

A Resource-Conserving Path to the Future
For our in-house manufactured products, we are committed to further increasing the proportion of recycled material in our formulations. At our plants, a large portion of the formulations has already been switched to low-carbon cements. At the Weiach plant (Switzerland), the use of recycled sand has also been tested, and it will soon be used in all of our own products. In this way, we combine environmental responsibility with innovative product development and create solutions that unite sustainability and quality.

Improving Sustainability with Raw Stone from the Mine
FIXIT Switzerland has taken a significant step toward sustainability: previously, raw stone was sourced from quarries and processed using gas-powered drying. Now, the raw stone is extracted directly from the mine, eliminating the need for drying. This change also drastically reduces CO₂ emissions and ensures the consistently high quality of our products.
